For as many brands out there that say they perform Car Data Checks, there are only 3 different providers of car data in the UK (My Car Check, HPI, Experian). At the moment the cheapest provider of Hpi Car Data Checks is a company called MyCarCheck (£3.95). However these don't provide financial data. Which means if the car has outstanding finance on it, this check will not pick it up. So if you use this company, there is a small but real chance that the car you buy, may be taken away from you at a later date by a finance company. The cheapest service that checks everything you need, is the RAC Car Data Check (Experian), which charges £9.99 per vehicle check. HPI are the third and most well known Car Data Check provider, they charge £24.99 for the same information as RAC Car Data checks. There is no difference between the 2 providers information, so little reason to choose the HPI option. So we recommend that you try RAC Car Data Checks for best value at the moment, although remember that these people online pay around 30p in costs to perform this check which is about a 3000% mark up, nice work if you can get it. |
